Accessibility statement
What we have done to make this site usable by everyone.
Last updated: 19 July 2026
This statement applies to the website at www.thecommunicationclinic.co.uk. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site — including parents using screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation or speech recognition.
How accessible this website is
This website has been designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. In particular:
- All text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background; large text and interface borders meet at least 3:1.
- The whole site can be operated with a keyboard alone, and focus is always clearly visible.
- There is a “skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
- Headings, landmarks and lists are marked up semantically so screen readers can navigate the page structure.
- Every meaningful image has alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text can be resized to 200% and the layout reflows to 320 px wide without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
- Nothing moves, flashes or auto-plays, and animation is disabled for anyone whose device requests reduced motion.
- Form fields have visible, permanently associated labels — not placeholder text — and errors are announced.
- Interactive targets are at least 44 × 44 CSS pixels.
- The site works with JavaScript disabled.
Our legal position
As a private service provider we have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. Meeting WCAG 2.2 AA is how we discharge that duty online. (The Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 apply to public sector websites rather than to private practices, but we have used the same standard voluntarily.)
Known limitations
- Some third-party logos are supplied as bitmap images and may look soft when magnified heavily.
- Documents linked from this site that were produced by other organisations may not meet the same standard.
Alternative formats
If you need any information from this site in another format — large print, plain text, easy read, audio, or read to you over the phone — contact info@thecommunicationclinic.co.uk or call +44 (0) 7956 328 622. We will respond within five working days.
Reporting accessibility problems
If you find a barrier we have missed, please tell us at info@thecommunicationclinic.co.uk. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we will investigate and reply.
Enforcement
If you are not happy with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can advise you: equalityadvisoryservice.com.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 19 July 2026. The site was tested by the development team using keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom to 400%, automated contrast checking of every colour pair in the stylesheet, and HTML validation. It has not yet been independently audited or tested with a full range of assistive technologies.
