What we offer

Assessment, therapy and professional liaison

Initial assessment

We offer assessment and therapy to children from birth to 11 years at the clinic, using teletherapy, or where necessary in the nursery or school environment. The assessment usually takes between 45 and 60 minutes and includes a detailed case history, some formal and/or informal assessment, discussion of the findings and advice about how to move forward.

Written summary report: available on request after the assessment, at a cost of £60.

Therapy sessions

Therapy is offered at our home clinic. Home, nursery and school visits can be arranged where necessary. Sessions last 30-40 minutes depending on your child’s needs.

There will always be time with you to discuss strategies and carry-over activities for homework. Regular homework practice is a compulsory addition to any therapy programme. It gives you and your child practical ideas to share and enjoy together within the routine of home life, and helps generalise the skills acquired in the therapy sessions.

Therapy may involve working directly with your child, or in some cases working with parents, school staff and local NHS therapy services to achieve the best possible communication environment.

Payment is made each week by cash, card or online payment.

Review Sessions

Review sessions are offered at our home clinic. These tend to follow gaps in treatment, or where parents have opted to wait and see how their children progress.

Review sessions have a minimum of 3 months between visits.

Payment is made each week by cash, card or online payment.

Liaison with other professionals

With your permission, we may also need to make contact with NHS colleagues, education staff and other professionals in your child’s life. This is an important relationship that provides a holistic understanding of your child’s difficulties and needs, and makes sure everyone is working in harmony to meet them. Effective communication with education colleagues is essential in ensuring your child’s needs are met at nursery or school, among their peers. Support is offered to the teacher to promote your child’s skills and facilitate their areas of need — for example through strategies or Individual Education Plan targets.
